Breaking world news! Google will make the own bank card for their users
Google is working on its own bank card integrated into the Google Pay payment service, TechCrunch reports. The company thus intends to compete with Apple and its Apple Card credit card, according to one of the sources of the publication.
Google map, according to screenshots and images for internal use, will be issued in conjunction with banks Citi and Stanford Federal Credit Union. Physical and virtual cards will have their own details. In case of loss of a physical card, users will be able to block it and use a virtual one, similarly they will be able to generate a new virtual card number if the old one got to scammers. Google did not refute TechCrunch's development information and said it was "exploring opportunities for cooperation with US banks," including its "main partners - Citi and Stanford Federal Credit Union."
Google issued its first credit card in 2012 in the United States and the United Kingdom; it was intended for small and medium-sized businesses using the AdWords advertising account. In 2013, Google introduced a debit card tied to the balance in the now not working Wallet service. In 2016, Google stopped servicing Wallet cards.
The Apple Card is available to users in the United States since August 2019, Goldman Sachs acts as the banking partner of Apple. The virtual card is integrated into the Apple Pay service and into the iOS operating system.
