Breaking Cebu News! Lockdown in Cebu, Philippines for any beach, waterfall, river or any bodies of water for all Province of Cebu
Governor Gwendolyn Garcia issued tonight another executive order prohibiting anyone from entering and swimming at any beach, waterfall, river or any bodies of water, public or private, within the Province of Cebu while it is still under Enhanced Community Quarantine.
PRESCRIBING ADDITIONAL PROHIBITIONS WITHIN THE PROVINCE OF CEBU RELATIVE TO THE USE OF BEACHES AND OTHER BODIES OF WATER
WHEREAS, on March 23, 2020, | issued Executive Order No. 5 - L that
prescribed additional mitigation measures to be implemented within the Province of Cebu to combat the Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID19);
WHEREAS, on March 25, 2020, thru the issuance of Executive Order No. 5 -N, Series of 2020, I declared the entire Province of Cebu under a state of Enhanced Community Quarantine;
WHEREAS, on April 11, 2020, there have been thirty-six (36) confirmed
cases of the COVID-19, five (5) cases of Severe Acute Respiratory Infections, two hundred twenty-nine (229) cases of Influenza Like Illnesses, and thirty-four thousand six hundred fifty-eight (34,658) Persons Under Monitoring within the Province of Cebu;
WHEREAS, it is imperative that a prohibition on persons swimming in
beaches and other bodies of water, including the gathering of persons therein, is implemented in order further prevent the spread of the COVID-19 in Cebu;
NOW, THEREFORE, I, GWENDOLYN F. GARCIA, Governor of the Cebu,
by virtue of the powers and authority vested in me by law, do hereby PROHIBIT all persons within the Province of Cebu from entering the vicinity of private or public beaches and other bodies of water such as waterfalls and rivers.
Furthermore, swimming at beaches and other bodies of water is strictly prohibited.
The PNP and the Armed Forces of the Philippines shall assist in the implementation of this Executive Order and apprehend any violator thereto.
