CEBU CITY, Philippines – Scientists from the national government are peering toward two additional clinics in Central Visayas to lead coronavirus sickness 2019 (COVID-19) tests.
In light of the ongoing COVID-19 Laboratories Capacity checking from the Department of Health (DOH) on April 1, 2020, state-ran clinics in the urban communities of Dumaguete and Tagbilaran are being considered to do COVID-19 testings.
These are Governor Celestino Gallares Memorial Medical Center in Tagbilaran City, Bohol, and Negros Oriental Provincial Hospital in Negros Oriental.
There are currently seven clinics across the country whose research facilities are authorize to complete COVID-19 tests, including the Vicente Sotto Memorial Medical Center (VSMMC) in Cebu City.
Accreditation is separated into five phases, with Stage 5 denoting the full-scale execution of the testings.
Stage 1 includes self-appraisal utilizing the apparatuses gave by the Research Institute of Tropical Medicine (RITM), the state-claimed lab situated in Muntinlupa City that gives affirmation for labs, both open and private, to do COVID-19 tests.
A portion of the variables weighed during Stage 1 are access to the research facility, plan of the lab, utilization of lab wellbeing hardware, regulatory control and the executives, records and documentation, and work force practices and preparing.
On location visits by the specialists from DOH, RITM, and World Health Organization (WHO) is in Stage 2, wherein they will approve the self-evaluation made in the past stage.
"The group will educate the research facility regarding its lacks, and the lab should consent to suggestions before continuing to the following stage," DOH said.

Clinics and research centers can begin tolerating COVID-19 examples for testing if DOH groups them under Stage 4.

As of April 1, 2020, Governor Celestino Gallares Memorial Medical Center is grouped under Stage 2 while Negros Oriental Provincial Hospital is under Stage 1.
