Cebu City, Philippines—The Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) chose to drop successful March 11, 2020, its progressing games and exercises due to the coronavirus illness (Covid-19) alarm in the nation.
In a report on the association's site, the group settled on this choice after an uncommon executive gathering hung on Tuesday night, March 10.
"The Philippine Basketball Association Board of Governors through the Office of the Commissioner, chose with judiciousness to drop successful today, March 11, its on-going PBA Philippine Cup and PBA D-League Aspirants Cup games and exercises and PBA 3×3 debuts until further notification," the PBA said through pba.ph.
"Considering the current circumstance encompassing COVID-19 and the Presidential affirmation of Public Health Emergency, it is our foremost obligation and duty to guarantee the well-being and security of our fans, players, groups, authorities, and staff," it included.
The group said it will evaluate the impacts of Covid-19 on an everyday premise, guided by the parameters set by the Department of Health and World Health Organization and will stay resolved to lead its games and exercises in a protected and capable way for every one of its partners.
