Breaking news! Scientists have named the source of a new coronavirus
According to the State Health Committee of China, coronavirus can be infected during its incubation period, which ranges from one to 14 days
Experts from the China Disease Control and Prevention Center have found traces of the new coronavirus in the seafood market in Wuhan. It is reported by China Daily with reference to the specialists of the center.
They collected 585 samples, 33 of which showed a positive result for the virus. They were taken from 22 stalls and garbage trucks, most of which were in the western part of the market.
According to the center, it was in this part of the market that wild animals were sold. Experts have confirmed that they are the source of the virus, but it is not known which animal was originally infected.
The center said that the new coronavirus is 90% similar to that found in bats in Zhoshuang, Zhejiang Province.
However, the South China Morning Post writes that Chinese scientists who work in a hospital in Wuhan found that the first to become infected with a new type of coronavirus did not visit the seafood market. According to them, the symptoms of a new disease first became known on December 1. Researchers noted that not a single member of the patient's family had fever or respiratory symptoms.
The head of the State Committee for Health Care of China, Ma Xiaowei, said that the incubation period of the new coronavirus is from one to 14 days, reports CGTN. She noted that during this period you can become infected with a virus, which is very different from SARS.
A coronavirus outbreak began in the Chinese city of Wuhan in December 2019. The infected ones worked in the local seafood market. Then, cases were recorded in other cities of the PRC.
Subsequently, cases of coronavirus infection were recorded in the USA, France, Canada, Australia, South Korea, Thailand, Nepal and other countries. According to the latest data, the death toll has reached 56 people, and more than 2 thousand are already sick.
