Tropical Storm Kammuri

The Philippines Geophysical and Astronomical Service announced that the Kammuri storm is likely to affect some parts of the country starting November 30 and prevent the opening of SEA Games in South-East Asia, Antara reports.

The Kammuri storm is expected to escalate into a hurricane.
Philippine Geophysical and Astronomical Service expert Benison Estaraja noted that a storm was seen in the Visayas region of the Philippines on November 27. Wind speed reaches 115 km / h.

According to him, the storm will reach Manila around December 2-4.

It is known that, in connection with the threat of a storm in the Philippines, a special working group was created that will monitor the situation and ensure security during SEA Games 2019. In the event of a hurricane, appropriate decisions will be made on holding games. Perhaps the competition in some sports will continue, but without spectators.

As REGNUM reported earlier, the games of Southeast Asia will officially start on November 30 and will end on December 11, 2019. An estimated 8,750 athletes from 11 countries will compete for gold, silver and bronze medals.
