Lifeguards rescued people at sea at dawn yesterday. 10 people moved from Olango Island to Mactan Island. The boat worked intermittently, the weather was bad, large waves covered the boat. Seawater damaged the engine and passengers were in danger. People were at sea for several days and couldn’t go to work. They managed to report the situation to relatives and soon a rescue operation was carried out.
A few hours later, the residents of Olango were brought to Mactan. Fortunately, no one was hurt. The coast guard also noticed that the boat on which people sailed was not registered. The owner will have to pay a fine.
Residents of Olango often go to sea for fishing. This activity brings them money. The government provided them with assistance in the form of food products to protect people and they would not go to sea and fish.
