The director of the noodle company in Talisay City faces arrest. The offender was accused of stealing coal. His company uses coal as a fuel for making noodles. The total cost of the rock is around P33 million. This is the largest amount of seized coal this year. Moreover, the suspect violated anti-fencing law. The legal officer of DOE Central Visayas, stated that the consignee Encoal Corp, shipper Team (Phils) Energy, the Pagbilao power plant of Pagbilao and Asian Shipping Corp. also violated the law.
Gamallo - the legal officer of DOE Central Visayas said on July 26 he and his team found out about the illegal delivery of coal. Pagbilao power plant can use the rock for its own purposes but the plant has no right to sell coal or transport it.
On July 29, the coast guard informed Gamallo that the barge was empty and had no cargo, so it could sail away. This information alarmed Gamallo. He and his team monitored the cargo to Talisay. They fixed coal on the ship. Raw materials are still in Talisay.
