THE Mananga Bridge won’t be open on 4 August 2019. The opening of the bridge in Talisay City which was scheduled for August is postponed to another date now. When this happens exactly is unknown.
Only one of the two lanes will be completed by August 4. The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) claimed that the bridge will be fully completed by this date. But the contractor asked to extend the repair time of the bridge for another 2 weeks.
Mayor Gerald Anthony Gullas Jr. said the second-line bridge reconstruction on the bridge will be completed by the end of the second week. He also said that they would do everything possible to complete the work by that date. On Sunday, only the inner part of the bridge will be open to traffic.
Jonathan Tumulak, head of the City of Talisay Traffic Operations Development Authority, ordered to appoint more bridge reconstruction personnel and check the quality of the repairs.
