The Jolo cathedral was restored and reopened
The cathedral, which was destroyed by an explosion, is open again and accepts everyone who wishes to visit it. Fr. Jefferson Nadua of the Oblates of Mary Immaculate said that the reconstruction is 80% complete. The Cathedral was opened on Tuesday, July 23 in Sulu province. The religion of the Cathedral is Catholic. The Cathedral preaches tolerance, therefore, it has a respectful attitude for the Muslim population, which prevails in Sulu province.
The Jolo cathedral was destroyed on January 27th. Unidentified people organized two explosions during the morning service. According to the police, 27 people were killed, another 70 were injured. The first explosion thundered inside the temple. The military immediately arrived at the cathedral. They began to help people get out. And at that moment the second bomb exploded. Among the dead and wounded, there were a lot of civilians and military personnel too.
