AROUND 27 uncommon surveying areas will be built up in the south locale of Cebu City amid the May 13 races for somewhere in the range of 2,560 enlisted voter-prisoners of the Cebu City Jail and the Cebu Provincial Detention and Rehabilitation Center (CPDRC).
Vote tallying machines (VCM), however, won't be brought inside the confinement offices as checking of votes might be held in ordinary surveying areas.
"The EBs (constituent sheets) will bring tallies sa exceptional casting a ballot place sa sulod sa (inside the) jail compound, at that point didto sila mobotar (they will cast a ballot there). After nila mobotar (After casting a ballot), the uncommon EBs will bring those topped off tickets sa presinto para didto I-feed sa VCM (to the areas to encourage into the vote tallying machines)," said Commission on Elections (Comelec) Acting Cebu Provincial Elections Supervisor Jerome Brillantes on Friday, March 15.
Much the same as in customary surveying areas, the detainees have until 3 p.m. of Monday, May 13, to cast their votes in favor of both national and nearby applicants.
Brillantes said the polls are "region explicit," implying that regardless of whether the exceptional EBs should head out to the ordinary areas for tallying, the odds of swapping voting stations are far-fetched.
Declared last Jan. 16, Comelec Supplemental Resolution 10482 gives the principles and guidelines to the casting a ballot, checking and soliciting for people denied of freedom (PDL).
A PDL alludes to a prisoner, detainee or detainee or other individual under restriction or authority in other way.
Segment 1 of the goals gives that exceptional surveying places will be built up in prisons or jail offices with no less than 50 enrolled PDL voters who are enlisted accordingly in the district or city where the detainment office is found.
In a different meeting, Comelec Cebu City south locale decision colleague Kate Dy said there are around 1,618 enrolled voters in the Cebu Provincial Detention and Rehabilitation Center, while there are 942 enlisted voters at the City Jail.
Dy included that since the two offices are situated in Barangay Kalunasan, the Comelec south region has arranged somewhere in the range of 27 extraordinary surveying areas for the prisoners.
As per CPDRC Warden Reynaldo Valmoria, the office is as of now lodging somewhere around 3,134 detainees.
Prison Warden Renante Rubio said there are 5,760 detainees in the Cebu City Jail.
