Mayor Tomas Osmeña sues Alcover

Cebu City Mayor Tomas Osmeña has recorded managerial and criminal objections against Councilor Pastor Alcover, Jr. who purportedly censured his notoriety by spreading false data identifying with the Ateneo harassing episode.

In his 18-page objection, the civic chairman blamed Alcover for damaging Republic Act No. 10175 or the Cybercrime Prevention Act of 2012, or the Revised Penal Code, Code of Conduct and Ethical Standards for Public Officials and Employees, and grave wrongdoing.

"Respondent Councilor Alcover's vindictive demonstration of crediting to me – or influencing it to appear to general society that I created an impression supporting the demonstration of harassing in the viral recordings of AJHS understudies obviously establishes slander," peruses segment of the objection.

Last Tuesday evening, the civic chairman, who was helped by legal counselors from SALiGAL Law office, recorded the case before the Office of the Ombudsman-Visayas.

On December 20, 2018, there was a viral video that coursed via web-based networking media of a supposed harassing occurrence including Ateneo de Manila Junior High School understudies.

Multi day after the video turned into a web sensation, Alcover, one of the pundits of the civic chairman, supposedly posted in his Facebook account a photograph with the city hall leader's face and the Bando Osmeña-Pundok Kauswagan's logo with the explanation that the city hall leader apparently issued on the harassing occurrence.

Alcover supposedly posted the announcement of Osmeña as pursues "this kid was not by any stretch of the imagination tormenting, he was simply showing his colleague a thing or two. Ateneo and the Jesuits are near my heart. I realize they will get past with this."

"Respondent Councilor Alcover defamed my notoriety for being civic chairman of the City of Cebu by crediting to me an explanation that I never made. He influenced it to create the impression that I supported the supposed harassing episode including AJHS understudies, and that I agreed with the supposed domineering jerk," read a segment of Osmeña's protest.

The civic chairman denied that he put forth the expression that was credited to him, saying it is unbelievable for him to support such demonstration of tormenting which is disallowed under Republic Act No. 10627 or Anti-Bullying Act of 2013.

Looked for input, Alcover said he has not perused the grumbling documented against him, including that he will simply issue his announcement in the wake of perusing the allegations of the city hall leader.

Osmeña said the FB post of Alcover got 557 responses, 313 remarks, with 584 offers which implies several Facebook clients, from Cebu as well as from everywhere throughout the nation, have seen and remarked to the post.

The city hall leader incorporated some screen captures of the remark area of Alcover's post and a portion of the remarks made incorporate "that is phony news", "Tomas Osmeña, Bobo mo ha", "undeserving to be a civic chairman. What a disgrace," among others.

Osmeña said Alcover's "malevolent" demonstration plans to dishonor the city hall leader since the May 2019 races are quick drawing closer.

The civic chairman said Alcover ought to be made criminally at risk for defamation and authoritatively at risk for grave wrongdoing and infringement of Code of Conduct and Ethical Standards for Public Officials and representatives.

Osmeña asked the counter unite office to preventively suspend Alcover while the examination is being led
